USS Turner Joy Amateur Radio Club

Museum Ship Weekend, June 4-6, 2010

The Museum Ship Weekend was a considerable success for those who attended. Eleven contacts were made towards the event, including:

  • » USS Lexington - Corpus Christi, TX
  • » USS Stewart - Galveston, TX
  • » SS Edmund Fitzgerald Memorial - Whitefish Point, MI
  • » USS LCI(L)-1091 - Eureka, CA
  • » RMS Queen Mary - Long Beach, CA
  • » USS Cavalla - Galveston, TX
  • » USS Pampanito - San Francisco, CA
  • » USS Batfish - Muskogee, OK

Participants included:

  • » Robert Meyers - KA7UMR
  • » Jeff Meyers - KA6ZMU
  • » Sean Meyers - KE6LMF
  • » Pete Lillie - W7JY
  • » Rick Bailor - W7UN
  • » Steve Boerner - KC7CYP

While we didn't make our goals, much was learned.  One original antenna was set up and used to make a contact (USS Batfish) and one other was started.  Otherwise, plans were made for future operations, including formation of the club itself.
